Sir Ernest Shackleton und Die Endurance
Sir Ernest Shackleton war ein Polarforscher. Er wurde 1874 geboren.
Im Jahr 1914 kaufte Shackleton ein Schiff. Er nannte es Endurance. Die Endurance und ihre achtundzwanzig Besatzungsmitglieder segelten noch im selben Jahr in die Antarktis.
Das Schiff war fast ein Jahr lang im Eis gefangen. Die Endurance sank schließlich im November 1915.
Die Besatzung kampierte auf dem Eis. Im April 1916 nutzte die Besatzung die Rettungsboote der Endurance, um nach Elephant Island zu segeln.
Im Jahr 1922 starb Shackleton.
Das Wrack der Endurance wurde im März 2022 im Weddellmeer entdeckt.

Sir Ernest Shackleton was a polar explorer. He was born in 1874.
In 1914, Shackleton bought a ship. He named it Endurance. Endurance and its twenty-eight crew members sailed for the Antarctic later that year.
The ship became trapped in ice. Endurance finally sank in November 1915.
The crew camped on the ice. In April of 1916, the crew used the lifeboats from the Endurance to sail to Elephant Island.
In 1922, Shackleton died of a heart attack.
The wreck of the Endurance was discovered in the Weddell Sea in March of 2022.
